The works, which had a budget of 160,000 euros and a completion period of three and a half months, were carried out over an area of more than 200 square meters. This strategically located premises on Serenata Street offers convenient access to the A-7 highway.
The intervention was necessary due to the significant deterioration of the facilities, both on the facades and in various interior areas, caused by the passage of time and lack of maintenance. The work included the renovation of changing rooms, bathrooms, and the operational area, as well as the creation of laundry and toilet facilities.
Furthermore, the air conditioning, lighting, and telecommunications network dependencies have been renewed, adapting the spaces to optimize the working conditions of the volunteers.
“"These improvements will allow volunteers to carry out their work in more comfortable facilities adapted to the service we provide daily to residents."
The local Civil Protection group has 150 volunteers who play a crucial role in emergency operations, prevention, and support for events and organized devices in the municipality. Earlier this year, the group had already reinforced its equipment with the acquisition of an all-terrain vehicle, an investment of around 30,000 euros, to address emergencies in Marbella.
