The May Crosses festival in Marbella, which will run until May 18th, will offer 25 exhibition points across the town this year. Concurrently, a competition will be held where 22 creations will compete in various categories, including neighborhood entities, active participation centers, brotherhoods and confraternities, and associations.
A jury composed of experts in decoration, traditions, and the associative field will be responsible for evaluating the works. The final decision will be announced at the end of May, after a deliberation period. Participation in this initiative is seen as a great satisfaction for the collectives, regardless of the competition's outcome.
“"Behind each cross there is important artisanal and teamwork. Being part of this initiative is already a satisfaction for the collectives, regardless of the competition's result."
In addition to the exhibition of the crosses, the May Crosses program will include various complementary activities organized by different social groups. To ensure the dissemination of information, the City Council will distribute 5,000 leaflets that will be available at tourist information points, deputy mayoral offices, and municipal delegations.
“"This initiative is much more than a festivity; it is a reflection of the identity of Marbella's neighborhoods."
