Distress calls from a woman inside her home in the Calahonda area of Mijas alerted emergency services. A neighbor called during the early hours of last Monday, June 23rd, reporting that a woman was asking for help from inside her house. A Local Police patrol responded and interviewed the victim, who stated that her partner, while intoxicated, had hit her and caused her bodily harm.
Officers identified the individual at the property and proceeded with his arrest, attributing a suspected crime of injury. He was transferred to the Civil Guard facilities for further legal proceedings. The victim received assistance from the police and was accompanied to a health center, later filing a complaint against her alleged aggressor.
The distress calls from the victim from her home, where she was allegedly being assaulted by her partner, mobilized the Mijas Local Police.
In a separate incident, a jury is set to try a man accused of attempting to murder his underage ex-girlfriend in Torremolinos in March 2023. The Malaga Prosecutor's Office is seeking psychiatric internment for the accused, who allegedly hit and chased her with a kitchen axe despite having a restraining order in place.
