The main 21.097-kilometer race will feature 2,500 runners, while the 5-kilometer race adds another 500 participants. This success confirms the competition's steady growth, which has evolved from 844 runners in 2022 to the 2,500 anticipated for the half marathon and from 1,379 to 3,000 in total for all races in 2026.
A notable figure is the significant female participation, which rises to 1,081 women in the half marathon, far surpassing the 180 registered in 2022. The organization has decided not to increase the number of spots to ensure the safety and quality of the experience for registered participants.
The Fuengirola Half Marathon attracts runners from 26 different nationalities, establishing itself as an event that boosts the city's international profile during the low season. The completely flat course passes through emblematic locations such as the Puente de la Armada, Castillo Sohail, and the Paseo Marítimo.
The Plaza de España will host the Runner's Fair, featuring offerings from companies related to sports, health, and nutrition. After the race, the Recinto Ferial will be the venue for a post-race party with a DJ, entertainment, and prize draws, including a free paella for the half marathon participants.
The runner's experience is complemented by services such as photo booths, medal engraving, a free children's play area, physiotherapy, and showers at the Pabellón Juan Gómez ‘Juanito’. Entertainment along the route will be provided by brass bands, percussion groups, and musical performances.
The support of Top Gestión has been crucial for the event's growth, providing one of the most comprehensive runner's bags, which includes a shoe bag, socks, a sublimated t-shirt, a bracelet, a water bottle, and a wristband.
The security and organization plan, coordinated by the Sports Department of the Fuengirola City Council, will involve the Local Police, health services, ambulances, and up to 300 volunteers to ensure the smooth running of the competition.
The Fuengirola City Council has expressed gratitude for the involvement of local sports clubs, runners, volunteers, businesses, and residents, whose collaboration has made the Half Marathon a prominent event on the local sports calendar.
