The concert, which will serve as the grand finale for the 2026 edition of Marenostrum Fuengirola, will feature a review of the band's greatest hits and include numerous surprises and special collaborations. This event marks the conclusion of the national artists' programming for the venue's eleventh season.
The Councilor for Culture and Major Events, Rodrigo Romero, highlighted the event's significance, noting that La Mari from Chambao is a legend in Spanish music and that the venue has hosted prominent figures such as El Último de la Fila, Fito, Dani Martín, Dani Fernández, La Oreja de Van Gogh, Lola Índigo, and Alejandro Sanz.
María del Mar Rodríguez Carnero, known as La Mari, is the composer and creative soul behind Chambao, a project that has forged its own unique sound and become a benchmark in Spanish music. Her career has been honored with 11 platinum records, Ondas Awards, the Medal of Andalusia, and Latin Grammy and Goya Award nominations.
After a hiatus, Chambao returned in 2023 with the highly anticipated album ‘En la cresta del ahora’ and has since released new singles like ‘Mañana’, ‘Fresca’, and ‘La Piel’ in collaboration with SFDK. Now, in 2026, she celebrates 25 years with a new album revisiting her songs alongside top-tier collaborators, bringing this celebration to her live performances.
Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a unique show combining Chambao's classics with new compositions, specially designed to commemorate this milestone anniversary.
