A tragic accident occurred on the A-7 highway near Marbella on Thursday night. A driver traveling in the wrong direction, acting as a kamikaze, caused a head-on collision with another vehicle. As a result of the impact, the driver going the wrong way has died, and at least one other person has been injured.
The first alerts reached the 112 Andalucía emergency services shortly after 10:20 PM, warning of a car driving recklessly. Shortly thereafter, new calls reported the collision at kilometer 1044 of the highway, in the section heading towards San Pedro de Alcántara. Health services from 061, firefighters, Traffic Civil Guard, and Road Maintenance personnel were quickly dispatched to the scene of the incident.
Firefighter sources confirmed the death of one person at the scene. The condition of the injured person has not yet been detailed. The accident caused significant traffic delays and complications, affecting several lanes of the highway. Drivers were advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
