The comprehensive renovation works on Calle Sevilla in Fuengirola began last Wednesday, September 9th. This project addresses a demand from local residents and fulfills the municipal commitment to renew services and enhance the public space.
Mayor Ana Mula visited the site with the relevant councilor, José Sánchez, to oversee the progress of the intervention. Mula emphasized the fulfillment of the promise made to residents and thanked them for their cooperation regarding any potential inconvenconveniences.
The start of the works, initially scheduled for Monday, September 7th, was adjusted to Wednesday, September 9th, due to a holiday in Málaga. This change did not affect the planned execution period of 138 days.
The renovation, budgeted at 947,829.31 euros and funded by the Provincial Council of Málaga, covers approximately 300 linear meters. It includes updating water supply pipelines, improving existing infrastructure and services, and a complete transformation of the surface area to enhance accessibility and safety.
Particular attention was paid to maintaining existing parking spaces, ensuring the public space improvement is compatible with residents' needs. The company responsible for the works is Probisa Vías y Obras S. L.
The Mayor highlighted that this project represents another step forward in improving Fuengirola's streets and neighborhoods, responding to resident requests. The City Council has previously carried out similar renovations in the area, including the remodeling of Plaza de San José and the small square between Calle Triana, Calle San Salvador, and Calle Sevilla itself, with an investment exceeding 700,000 euros.
