The incident occurred on Thursday morning at the premises of the Velas de la Ballena company, located on Hierro Street. Around 10:15 AM, a thick column of black smoke alerted workers and residents, quickly spreading through the facility and leading to numerous calls to emergency services.

To manage the situation, personnel from the Fire Department, Local Police, National Police, and medical services were deployed. More than twenty officers and six fire engines participated in the operation to extinguish the flames and assist those affected.

Emergency teams are still working at the scene to fully extinguish the fire and determine its cause. Activity in the industrial estate has been severely impacted by the disruption of basic services, affecting nearby businesses.

This incident follows another major fire last Friday at the Cajiz industrial estate in Vélez-Málaga. That blaze, which started in a textile warehouse, spread to five adjacent facilities, four of which were completely destroyed, marking a challenging week for the province's industry.
