The sporting director of Xerez CD, Miguel Ángel Gutiérrez 'Gallo', has backed the choice of Xavi Molist as the new first-team coach, underlining the effort made by the technical secretariat to find the ideal figure. 'It has been a long month,' he acknowledged, emphasizing the importance of 'personal details' in decision-making.
After considering other options such as Abel Gómez, Abel Segovia, and Manolo Sanlúcar, 'Gallo' stated that the first meeting with Molist was 'spectacular,' indicating immediate chemistry. 'The synergy between those in charge of the club's sporting department was total from minute one,' he assured.
The sporting direction sought a playing style that would connect with the Chapín stadium's fanbase, something they are confident Molist will achieve. 'Xavi has a vision of football that will be beautiful for us Jerezanos to watch. It's daring football, and he is also a young coach with great potential,' he explained.
Regarding Molist's previous spell at Estepona, 'Gallo' sees it as a motivational factor. 'He is eager, after last year's setback at Estepona, to redeem himself because the circumstances there were not the most suitable,' he concluded.
