The city of Fuengirola is preparing to host the fifth edition of the oral storytelling festival ‘Perita Cuentos’. The event will be held at the Parque del Sol between September 16 and 18, offering a cultural cycle designed for audiences of all ages.
This edition will feature four prestigious storytellers: Carolina Rueda, Aldo Méndez, Irene Reina, and Quico Cadaval. The presentation of this event was made by the Councilor for Culture, Rodrigo Romero, who emphasized the importance of oral storytelling.
“"It is important that children, and also adults, can listen to stories, whether real or fictional, pay attention, and spend time understanding what is being told to them. Therefore, from September 16 to 18, we will have our Perita Cuentos festival again. For the fifth year, we will celebrate it in Parque del Sol, where we can enjoy some of the most prestigious speakers in the country."
The program will begin on September 16 with Carolina Rueda, who will offer two sessions: ‘Cuentos cantados, cantos contados’ (Sung stories, told songs) at 6:30 PM for families, and ‘Gentes, caminos y suceso’ (People, paths, and events) at 8:30 PM for young adults and adults.
On September 17, Aldo Méndez will present ‘Mundo de papel’ (World of paper) at 6:30 PM for families. Later, at 8:30 PM, all four participating storytellers will join for the narration ‘Peritas en dulce’ (Sweet pears) for young adults and adults.
On September 18, it will be Irene Reina's turn with ‘Pliegos de cordel’ (String sheets) at 6:30 PM for families. Quico Cadaval will close the cycle at 8:30 PM with the narration ‘Los Inocentes’ (The Innocents) for young adults and adults.
