A bomb threat in Marbella triggered a substantial deployment of the National Police this midday, establishing a security perimeter in the exclusive Los Naranjos area, in the upper part of Nueva Andalucía. Police sources confirmed that, after activating the relevant protocols, the alert was found to be negative, although the investigation into the origin of the warning remains open.
The alert originated from a residence in this affluent neighborhood, leading to the intervention of officers from various units. They secured a wide exclusion zone around the focal point, which was meticulously inspected by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technicians (Tédax). The establishment of this security cordon caused significant traffic jams and mobility problems for residents and passers-by in the area.
Eyewitnesses reported a heavy police presence at locations such as the Cibeles roundabout and Pléyades street, preventing vehicles from moving for over an hour. Additionally, a National Police helicopter was observed flying over the area. Once the Tédax confirmed the alarm was false, the operation was withdrawn, though authorities continue to investigate potential criminal offenses.
