The town of Casares in Malaga is getting ready to bid farewell to summer with two important celebrations. Tomorrow, September 5th, the Day of the Virgen del Rosario del Campo, the town's patron saint, will be commemorated, followed by the traditional Feria del Cristo from September 11th to 13th.
The Day of the Virgen is one of the most deeply rooted celebrations, combining religious tradition and neighborly coexistence. Events will begin at dawn with the traditional Rosario de la Aurora, followed by a flamenco mass sung by the Brotherhood Choir. At midday, a traditional communal meal will be held.
In the evening, the program will continue with the procession of the Virgen del Rosario through the town's streets, which will lead into a popular festival enlivened by the Orquesta Cat For Ever.
The Feria del Cristo, taking place from September 11th to 13th, will mark the grand finale of the summer festive calendar. Casares Square will be the stage for performances by the orchestras D’Vértigo and Latidos, while the La Carrera promenade will be transformed into a children's amusement park.
The Youth Zone, located in El Llano, will feature a themed party on Friday and a performance by Samueliyo Baby on Saturday. One of the fair's highlights will be the procession of the Santo Cristo on Saturday, September 12th, at 9:30 PM.
