A negotiation table, composed of union representatives and Human Resources councilor Rosa Balbuena, gave the green light this Friday to four new firefighter positions for the 2026 Public Employment Offer. This decision comes amidst a citizen protest following the tragedy on Onix street, where two minors and a mother died in a fire.
Since 2023, the municipal government, led by Juan Antonio Lara, has progressively offered positions: three in 2023, three in 2024, and another three in 2025. The sum of these with the four approved for 2026 will allow for a consolidated recruitment drive to reinforce the service with a total of 13 new personnel.
The Human Resources councilor announced that, following this approval, the process for the public call and subsequent selection process will commence, in accordance with the law, for the incorporation of the new firefighters into the department.
