A group of divers descended to the bottom of the Mediterranean to recover the statue, which remains submerged for the rest of the year. Following the rescue, the image was swum to Malapesquera beach, accompanied by a procession of boats that followed the route from the bay.
Upon reaching the shore, the figure was welcomed by numerous faithful and residents. It was then moved to the Puerto Deportivo Captaincy, where it will remain until the central meeting of the festivities, one of the most anticipated moments for the local community.
This ritual, which combines faith and maritime tradition, is recognized as a Provincial Tourist Singularity Festival, granted by the Malaga Provincial Council. The celebration reaffirms Benalmádena's historical bond with the sea, establishing itself as one of the most prominent cultural events of the summer in the province.
