Away from the loungers, cocktails, and markets, the Costa del Sol offers a range of adrenaline-fueled experiences for thrillseekers. From soaring through the skies to rapidly driving down dirt paths, this popular holiday destination offers much more than tasty food and stunning views.
One of the standout activities is ziplining at Sunview Park in Alhaurín de la Torre. Measuring 1,350 meters, it is the longest zipline in Andalusia and the second longest in Spain, reaching speeds of up to 100 km/h while offering panoramic views of fields and mountains. The experience includes a "superman" pose flight and a subsequent Land Rover ride through mountain tracks.
Near Mijas Pueblo, ATV Adventures offers quad biking tours through mountain trails. Participants navigate natural landscapes, spot local flora, and enjoy downhill rides and puddle crossings, guided by experts who share facts about the Sierra de Mijas geography. A change of clothes is recommended due to mud and water.
The adventure continues with canyoning in the Guadalmina river, organized by Marbella Adventures. This three-hour activity combines jumps, climbing, and swimming in a natural environment of cliffs and rock slides. Licensed guides provide access to otherwise inaccessible areas, allowing participants to enjoy local wildlife and culminating in a six-meter abseil descent.
What began as a nervous leap into the river had become a journey through one of the Costa del Sol’s most striking natural landscapes.
These experiences, which include GoPro footage to capture the thrilling moments, are complemented by opportunities to enjoy views from terraces and engage in other activities like basketball or cycling at some of the park facilities.
