A 40-year-old man lost his life this Tuesday, June 2nd, on Calahonda beach in Marbella. The incident occurred around 4:20 PM when several witnesses alerted emergency services after locating the body in the water.
The alert calls described 'a person possibly deceased in the waters of Calahonda beach, in the area of beach bars and caravans'. It was several bathers who pulled the man from the sea and provided assistance on the shore until rescue teams arrived.
Agents from the Local Police and National Police, along with medical personnel from the 061 and Marbella's Beach Service, were dispatched to the scene. Despite attempts at cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) by the personnel, their efforts were unsuccessful, and the man's death was confirmed.
At present, the exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain undetermined. Authorities have opened an investigation and are not ruling out any hypotheses regarding the cause of death.
