The event, organized by the institution's Department of Democratic Memory, Archive, and Library, began this morning with an inaugural ceremony presided over by the delegate for the Presidency, Interior Government, and Housing, Marta Siles. Siles emphasized "the Diputación's commitment to the work of archives as an element for preserving the documentary heritage of our municipalities".
The deputy highlighted the corporation's "intensive work" with municipal archives, supporting them in inventorying and digitizing collections, and stressed the importance of these administrative units for "the preservation of our history".
Siles also mentioned the technological tool of the Provincial Computing Company, Eprinsa, which has supported the electronic management of town halls since 2010.
The delegate concluded that "this technical meeting consolidates Córdoba as a key meeting point for the archives sector in Spain this week, also serving as an ideal prelude to the start of the 2nd National Congress of Archives, which is also being held in the city".
