This administrative procedure is crucial for certifying to the European Union that the planned investments meet eligibility requirements and are strategic for the provincial capital. The plan seeks to boost the social, environmental, cultural, and economic development of the area.
Among the highlighted proposals are the construction of housing for young people, the rehabilitation of the Cruz Conde park circuit, and the development of a business transformation plan for the Guadalquivir neighborhood. The plan also includes the adaptation of the San Eulogio field and the construction of a new social services center.
The Edilquivir Plan will mobilize a total of 20 million euros, with 12 million coming from European funding, complemented by the council's contribution. This investment will be allocated to nine key projects designed to effectively connect the Southern District with the rest of the city.
“"The procedure is aimed at the various municipal delegations and bodies involved in the development of the projects. They must now process their funding applications, ensuring that each operation complies with the sustainability, efficiency, and alignment criteria required by European Union regulations."
The call for projects follows the validation of necessary documentation by the Directorate General for European Funds of the Ministry of Finance, allowing the municipal administration to fully assume its role as a Light Intermediate Body. This legal status empowers the council to directly select, manage, and control projects receiving European funding.
To facilitate this process, the City Council has created a dedicated section on its website providing all necessary information for beneficiaries. With the launch of this process, the operational phase begins to fulfill the commitment made when applying for this European Regional Development Fund call, ensuring agile and transparent execution of assigned funds.
