The Imdeco will present the dossier for the construction and operation of the new Municipal Sports Facility (IDM) Juventud to the Governing Council next Tuesday. This project, to be located in the Southern District, represents an effort to expand and modernize the city's sports facilities.
The initiative will be developed under a concession model for construction and operation, which includes the drafting of the project, the construction of the facility, and its subsequent comprehensive management. This scheme seeks to combine private investment with municipal support to ensure the viability and accessibility of the service.
“"This dossier is the result of months of intense and rigorous technical work carried out by the Institute's staff, who have addressed a particularly complex process with maximum solvency due to its legal, economic, and administrative demands."
The tender specifications establish a maximum period of 20 months for the execution of the works, with the possibility of reducing it to a minimum of 12 months as a valuable criterion in the award. This period will be followed by approximately six months of administrative procedures before its opening to the public.
To ensure the project's economic sustainability and maintain affordable rates, the Imdeco will contribute a maximum of 1,250,000 euros (VAT included) to partially finance the construction. This disbursement will be made in two phases: 50% in 2027 and the remainder in 2028, after certification of work progress. The maximum duration of the concession contract will be 21 years, with the option to reduce it to 13 years.
The future facility, spanning over 3,000 square meters across two floors and a terrace, will feature approximately ten sports areas. These include a fitness room, an indoor swimming pool, multi-purpose rooms for group activities, and an outdoor area with paddle tennis courts and a cross training space.
