The month of May, known for its floral explosion and religious fervor, will set the stage for the processional outing of the Miraculous Child Jesus of Prague. The route will pass through the streets adjacent to the San Cayetano convent, offering the faithful an opportunity for devotion.
One of this year's main novelties will be two garlands of roses made from laminated and dyed crepe paper. These pieces, handcrafted by a brother of the archconfraternity, evoke ancient conventual techniques. The 120 roses that comprise them symbolize the people, petitions, and prayers addressed to the Child Jesus, held by the angels on his plinth.
The color palette of the roses is very varied, including yellow, orange, pink, red, and white tones. The Carmen corporation explained that the diversity of the roses, from small and newly bloomed ones representing the children of the Carmen school, to withered and mature ones alluding to the elderly, symbolizes the uniqueness of each individual who approaches the Child's altar.
“"No two roses are alike, just as no two people are alike."
The musical accompaniment for the two-hour procession will be provided by the Caído Fuensanta bugle and drum band. Despite the weather forecast indicating a 95% probability of overcast skies with rain, the procession will maintain its planned itinerary, which includes streets such as Cuesta de San Cayetano, Ollerías, and Mayor de Santa Marina.
