The Provincial Council of Córdoba has approved the award of the work to renovate the sanitation collector passing through Espejo. This project, with a tender budget of 163,870 euros, is expected to take approximately three months to complete.
The intervention is part of the Provincial Plan for Hydraulic Infrastructure Works 2024-2027, aiming to improve hydraulic pipelines and ensure quality service for citizens. The urgency stems from the condition of the old DN-500 concrete pipe, which has numerous deficiencies causing leaks that could affect the N-432 highway.
The technical solution involves a directed horizontal drilling of 27 meters in length. Through this drilling, an 800-millimeter internal diameter, eight-millimeter thick helicosoldered steel pipe will be inserted as a protective element. Subsequently, a high-density polyethylene pipe will be installed inside this casing to ensure watertightness and durability.
Additionally, 64 meters of the current collector will be replaced with SN-8 structured PVC piping in the sections before and after the crossing. These works will contribute to improving the provision of an essential service like water supply and ensuring the stability of the heavily trafficked N-432 road infrastructure.
