Sadeco, Córdoba's municipal sanitation company, has unveiled a special cleaning plan for the May Festival, featuring a significant increase in personnel and resources to maintain the city in optimal conditions throughout the celebrations.
The head of the municipal company emphasized the collective effort from all departments to ensure the city looks its best during spring, a period when Córdoba becomes an international showcase. Therefore, municipal services will be reinforced to cater to both residents and the thousands of expected visitors.

"This operation is not new: we have exceptional human and material resources to make the city shine in April and May. Sadeco will reinforce its efforts during the largest activities."
For this year, Sadeco will hire an additional 15 people starting May 13, joining the 30 already incorporated for the orange campaign. Furthermore, on days of higher attendance, 28 reinforcement laborers will be deployed, sourced from hires made during floods and storm trains. In total, the team will comprise 73 people, exceeding last year's 60 workers.
One of the main novelties is the implementation of an inspection system with an informative, non-punitive character, throughout the entire May Festival. This initiative aims to raise public awareness about the importance of celebrating, recycling, and caring for the city, under Sadeco's cleaning campaign slogan for the coming months.
For specific events like the Wine Tasting, 10 container bins, 5 waste bins, and 6 specific wine bins will be provided, along with 10 additional wastebaskets. For the Cruces de Mayo, a team of 22 people will work in morning, afternoon, and night shifts, performing manual sweeping and using vehicles for wastebasket collection. 40 portable toilets will also be installed, with external reinforcement for cleaning, along with signage and glass and general waste containers.
During the Patios Festival, 100 wastebaskets and 11 portable toilets, two of which are adapted, will be placed, intensifying daily cleaning in areas with higher concentrations of patios. For the Fair, 65 operators will work daily in three shifts, with one cleaning team inside the fairgrounds and two in adjacent areas, in collaboration with the Prode company for green spaces. An additional 20 support operators will join on high-attendance days, and 140 wastebaskets, 850 ring wastebaskets, 100 containers, 200 recycling bins, 240 glass bins, as well as 45 sanitary facilities (6 adapted) and 30 support vehicles will be installed.

"We undertake this significant effort by the company in April and May with great enthusiasm; Easter went well, and we hope that during the May Festival we can keep the city clean and return to daily normality."
