The city of Córdoba is preparing to host several Eucharistic processions after the one that opened the Cathedral last Thursday. The brotherhoods of Remedio de Ánimas and Las Penas will be the next to hold their solemn processions this year.
The brotherhood of Remedio de Ánimas will hold its procession on the evening of Friday, June 5th, completing the project of new side panels for its float. These panels, depicting the Epiphany and the Last Supper, were crafted by members of the brotherhood's workshop following designs by artist Raúl Muñoz Gallardo. They join the front and rear panels, premiered in 2025, which show the Resurrection and Transfiguration of the Lord.
The procession of Remedio de Ánimas will begin at 9:00 PM from the parish of San Lorenzo, passing through streets such as Plaza de San Lorenzo, Arroyo de San Rafael, and Juan Bernier, among others, concluding its route at 11:00 PM back at the same parish. This event is scheduled earlier to avoid coinciding with the Cathedral's procession.
Meanwhile, the brotherhood of Las Penas, with the collaboration of the brotherhood of Las Penas, will bring the Blessed Sacrament out from the parish of Santiago on the morning of Sunday, June 7th. The procession will take place after the 10:15 AM mass and will be accompanied musically by the Agrupación Musical Sagrada Cena de Córdoba. This morning procession also aims to avoid overlap with the diocese's procession on Thursday, June 4th.
In the coming weeks, numerous Octave of Corpus Christi sacramental processions are expected in various neighborhoods of the city, organized by La Agonía, El Císter, La Sagrada Cena, and the parish of La Trinidad.
