The Ministry of Agriculture has announced the extension of the deadline for making modifications to the single application for the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) in Andalucía until June 15. This measure, which responds to requests from agricultural organizations, has been agreed upon with the Regional Government of Andalucía due to an "IT error" detected in the systems of the Consejería de Agricultura (Department of Agriculture).
The extension will apply only to applications that had already been processed, allowing them to be rectified without penalty. Organizations such as Asaja Andalucía, COAG Andalucía, UPA Andalucía, and Cooperativas Agro-Alimentarias had requested this extension, citing the "exceptional situation" in the Andalusian countryside, affected by persistent rains in January and February.
Agricultural associations considered the extension "absolutely necessary" due to force majeure caused by damage to farms, rural roads, and hydraulic infrastructure, which has led to "widespread delays in sowing" and difficulties in planning crop declarations. This was compounded by the overlap of state and regional aid for storms, increasing the workload.
Initially, the Ministry of Agriculture, headed by Luis Planas, did not consider the extension justified based on the high rate of application submissions. However, it has now agreed to the request for technical reasons and exclusively for the modification of already processed applications.
