This prestigious recognition, one of the most highly regarded among readers, was announced last Saturday in Morilla (Salamanca) by the jury appointed by the Spanish Association of Literary Critics.
Born in Córdoba in 1972, Pablo García Casado is considered one of the most admired Spanish poets of recent years. His style is characterized by an evolution that, in his most recent works, approaches prose without abandoning the poetic essence, a distinctive feature that has captivated critics and the public alike.
“"In 'Cada uno es mucha gente' he chooses to create small portraits of people in everyday stories, in their relationships with others, with their partners and with their children. In very few sentences, he is able to tell a story that makes sense and helps the reader understand."
The award-winning work adds to a literary career that began in 1996 with Las afueras. Since then, García Casado has cultivated a style of brief and evocative texts, present in titles such as El mapa de América or Dinero, and even ventured into narrative with the novel La madre del futbolista.
His writings are distinguished by incorporating references to contemporary culture, ranging from cinema and music to football, which allows him to connect deeply with a wide spectrum of readers.
