The collision, involving between seven and eight vehicles according to callers, occurred at kilometer 402 of the highway. Witnesses reported the incident to the Emergencias 112 service, which received the alert at 1:45 PM.

The Dirección General de Tráfico (DGT) confirmed the incident, noting that it affected both lanes in the decreasing direction of numbering. Following the accident, the Guardia Civil de Tráfico and road maintenance services were activated.

Fortunately, the intervention of health services was not required, as no injuries were reported initially as a result of the impact.
