The political group has pointed out that this trail, inaugurated in 2011 and recognized as a Place of Memory by the Junta de Andalucía, serves as a reminder of the anti-Franco guerrilla presence in the Sierra Morena area. However, they criticize that the informational panels are deteriorated or damaged and that the route shows "evident signs of lack of maintenance".
“"All we ask is that the law be complied with and that a space that is part of our collective history be dignified."
Hacemos Córdoba believes that this situation is not an isolated incident but rather a result of "a decade of institutional neglect by the City Council," which they describe as "a lack of respect for democratic memory and the city's heritage".
The municipal group has recalled a motion approved in 2017 that mandates the preservation of this space, as well as regional and state legislation on democratic memory. They have emphasized the importance of complying with the law and dignifying this historical site.
Furthermore, Hacemos Córdoba has invited citizens to participate in the 15th annual tour of the Memory Trail, which will take place this Sunday, April 19, starting at 9:00 AM from Trassierra square. This activity is organized by the Foro por la Memoria de Córdoba in collaboration with various memorialist groups.
The coalition has stressed that "citizen participation is key to making visible the neglect suffered by the trail" and to "demand immediate intervention from the City Council to ensure its preservation and enhancement".
