The budgetary modification, approved in the plenary session on June 17th with favorable votes from the governing PP team and the PSOE and IU groups (with Vox voting against), represents a significant increase compared to the initially planned amount. According to the provincial institution's estimates, this funding will enable the execution of around a thousand projects across the province over the next 18 months.
The President of the Provincial Council, Salvador Fuentes, described the figure as "historic" and highlighted that it will contribute to the provincial strategy for the recovery of municipalities following recent floods. He stated that the measure allows for "carrying out our Strategy for the Reconstruction of Córdoba 2026," demonstrating "prudence and caution" to structure recovery, coordinate aid, and inject liquidity.
The Diputación Invierte Plan is aimed at the province's 76 town halls, four autonomous local entities, and ten inter-municipal consortia. Its purpose is to finance actions that strengthen municipal public services and promote initiatives linked to the economic and social development of the territories.
The aid will be distributed according to established criteria, ranging from approximately 180,000 euros for municipalities with smaller populations to over 400,000 euros for localities with scattered hamlets and nuclei. The Provincial Council plans to expedite administrative processing to ensure funds reach the town halls as soon as possible, aiming to approve the provisional resolution in July and transfer the amounts before the end of the month.
In the same plenary session, the regulations for the Rural Employment Promotion Program (PFEA) 2026 were approved, with a budget of 13.6 million euros. The Regional Government of Andalusia will contribute 10.2 million (75%), and the Provincial Council the remaining 3.4 million. This program will enable the hiring of approximately 18,000 people in the province, and the Provincial Council will provide technical assistance for the drafting of 69 projects in 29 municipalities.
Finally, Rosa María Flores Blancar, councilor of the Moriles Town Hall, took office as the new provincial deputy for the socialist group.
