The incident occurred on March 19, after a citizen alerted the Civil Guard to the presence of an animal locked inside a vehicle on a street in Adamuz. Upon arrival, officers found a mixed-breed dog in the back seat, completely motionless and suspended by a leash attached to its collar.
Due to the urgency of the situation, officers broke one of the car windows to gain access and assist the animal, but upon entering, they confirmed that the dog showed no vital signs. A municipal veterinarian certified the animal's death.
Seprona successfully identified the owner of both the vehicle and the dog, confirming that the animal lacked the mandatory identification microchip. Furthermore, officers verified the absence of the municipal license required for owning Potentially Dangerous Animals (PPP), civil liability insurance, and registration in the municipal registry.
Consequently, the corresponding administrative complaints have been filed for very serious infractions of animal welfare regulations.
