The balance of the first seven months of the year reflects a critical situation regarding forest fires. The current figure triples the total area burned during the entire 2025 fiscal year, when 510 hectares were recorded. The data, which integrates measurements from the Junta de Andalucía and the European Forest Fire Information System (EFFIS), highlights the severity of a period marked by high temperatures.
The largest incident occurred at the Cerro Muriano military base, in the municipality of Obejo, where 459 hectares were affected. In addition to this event, the Plan Infoca has carried out 56 interventions in the province, of which 27 were classified as forest fires and 29 as incipient fires.
The composition of the affected area in the lands computed by the regional administration is broken down into 131 hectares of woodland, 295 of scrubland, and 489 of pasture. Authorities warn that, despite possible drops in temperatures, the risk of fire remains at extreme levels due to the accumulated dryness in the vegetation.
