The renowned International Festival of Flowers Flora, held annually in Cordoba and recognized as the world's foremost event dedicated to botany and contemporary floral art, has extended its application deadline for artistic assistants until Sunday, June 14. This initiative aims to provide students and professionals from various artistic and technical disciplines, as well as those in the floristry and gardening sectors, with a unique opportunity to work alongside some of the most distinguished floral and botanical artists internationally.
The call for applications, supported by the Kutxabank-Palacio de Viana Foundation, the festival's driving entity, allows interested individuals to submit their applications via email to asistentes@festivalflora.com. The organization will announce the selected candidates on June 30. The ninth edition of the festival, scheduled for October, will once again transform some of Cordoba's most emblematic courtyards into stages for striking 'site-specific' art installations, a major attraction drawing thousands of visitors.
The five international creators selected for Flora 2026, celebrated for their innovative proposals, will have four days to design and assemble their installations. Artistic assistants will play a crucial role in the production, mounting, and maintenance of these works, gaining firsthand insight into the creative and technical processes involved in constructing large-scale plant installations. The primary objective is to foster practical learning and knowledge exchange among young talents and industry professionals.
The responsibilities of the selected assistants will include providing direct support to the artists during the installation process and assisting with floral touch-ups and maintenance during the courtyards' public opening. To be eligible, applicants must be over 18 years old, possess experience or a strong interest in related artistic fields, and hold the necessary administrative documentation to work in Spain. Knowledge of languages, particularly English, will be positively considered due to the international background of the participating artists.
Interested individuals must submit an email with the subject line 'Asistencia artística Flora 2026' by June 14, attaching their curriculum vitae, a portfolio of previous artistic or floral work, a copy of their national ID or passport, and contact information. The complete terms and conditions, along with further details on the selection process, are available on the festival's official website, a key cultural and tourist event in Cordoba's autumn calendar.
