The 45th Córdoba Guitar Festival presents two notable musical performances this Tuesday, July 7th. Firstly, Juanfe Pérez will bring his show 'Eléctrica Jondura' to the Teatro Góngora at 8:30 PM, where the electric bass will engage in dialogue with flamenco. Secondly, Mozes Rosenberg & Bako Jovanović will perform the concert 'Entrecuerdas' in the iconic Patio de los Naranjos of the Mezquita-Catedral at 10:00 PM, a unique venue for the festival.
Juanfe Pérez's 'Eléctrica Jondura' aims to create a dialogue between deep tradition ('jondo') and contemporary sounds, achieving an organic coexistence between the electric bass and flamenco. This concert is part of a festival that has featured artists like Stanley Clarke and MonoNeon, exploring the electric bass's journey from fusion jazz to profound flamenco.
At the Patio de los Naranjos, Mozes Rosenberg, heir to the legendary gypsy jazz dynasty, and Bako Jovanović, a virtuoso of the tambura, will present 'Entrecuerdas'. This concert blends the legacy of Django Reinhardt with Balkan musical traditions. They will be accompanied by Matheus Nicolaiewsky on double bass and Žika Jovanović on classical guitar. Entry is by invitation.
In addition to the main concerts, the festival includes the XXII Study Days on Guitar History at Casa Árabe, opening with a lecture by Julio Gimeno. The La Guitarra Cuenta series will feature Juan Manuel Cañizares at the Gran Teatro, and a screening of 'Amores Brujos' will be held at the Filmoteca de Andalucía.
Courses at the Rafael Orozco Higher Conservatory of Music continue, including Pablo Salinas's laboratory on guitars and robots, and María Esther Guzmán's course on technique and interpretation.
The festival's film series concludes with 'Amores Brujos' by Lucía Álvarez, depicting the relationship between Manuel de Falla and writer María Lejárraga. The 45th Córdoba Guitar Festival runs until July 11th across various venues in the city.
