The club has confirmed the anticipated news: footballer Franck Fomeyem has undergone a successful surgery on his left ankle. The surgical intervention was deemed the best option to optimize his recovery process, especially after persistent discomfort experienced during his previous rehabilitation, which had already included an earlier procedure.
The operation was led by Dr. Manuel Monteagudo, in close collaboration with the medical services of Córdoba CF. The decision to proceed with further surgery was agreed upon after a comprehensive evaluation by external specialists, including Dr. Monteagudo himself and Dr. Mikel Sánchez.
Antonio Fernández Monterrubio, CEO of Córdoba CF, provided details on the player's situation. He explained that Fomeyem has suffered "multiple injuries within one," and while the initial ailment was addressed quickly, the return to sporting activity led to new issues that complicated his progress.
Initially, a conservative treatment method was chosen with the hope that the defender could participate in the final stages of the competition. However, upon realizing this approach was not yielding the expected results, the decision was made, in agreement with specialists in Madrid, to proceed with the surgical intervention. Córdoba CF has issued a medical report detailing the successful operation of the defender.
