The province of Córdoba is gearing up for a summer packed with cultural activities, featuring an agenda running from July to September with offerings for all audiences at locations like Madinat al-Zahra, museums, and the C3A.

The Junta de Andalucía has designed a special program for the summer months, including concerts, theatrical night tours, open-air cinema, exhibitions, and children's workshops. These events will take place in prominent cultural venues across the capital and the province.
The Archaeological Ensemble of Madinat al-Zahra will be a central focus of the program. It will celebrate the anniversary of its declaration as a World Heritage site with the concert "La ciudad brillante. Entre dos orillas" on July 3rd, connecting Andalusian tradition with the creative universes of figures like Manuel de Falla and Federico García Lorca. Admission will be free until capacity is reached.
Furthermore, Madinat al-Zahra will host theatrical night tours on several weekends throughout July, August, and September. These free activities, requiring prior registration, will offer a different way to explore the site, with sessions at 8:45 PM and 10:15 PM.
In August, the square in front of the Upper Basilica Building at Madinat al-Zahra will host "Algarabía. Escénica Medieval," a cycle of music and scenic expressions from medieval cultures. Performers will include Artefactum, Umayya, Hafsa Wallada, and Layali/Amanés, exploring dialogues between Arab-Andalusian traditions and Greek rebetiko. Performances start at 10:00 PM with prior reservation.
Throughout July and August, thematic visits to the Salón Rico of Madinat al-Zahra will be conducted by specialists, detailing the splendor of the building and the conservation efforts. These visits will have two daily sessions.
The Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology of Córdoba presents exhibitions such as "Córdoba, stage of the great war," focusing on the Second Punic War, until July 26th. It will also showcase treasures from Los Almadenes and Torredonjimeno, reflecting key moments of Hispania's Romanization and the end of the Visigothic kingdom.
Younger visitors can participate in hands-on activities like "archaeologists for a day," workshops on Egyptian mummification, Roman economy, archaeo-gastronomy inspired by Apicius, and on Magdalenian spindle whorls and early prehistoric optical illusions. These activities require prior registration.
The Museum of Fine Arts of Córdoba offers "Veraneo en el Museo" for children aged 6 to 12. Activities like "The museum sees you with good eyes" and "The museum puts your senses to the test" will combine games, tours, and artistic creation, with free access until capacity is reached.
The Museum of Fine Arts' offerings also include the exhibition "Ricardo Baroja. Stories in black and white" and the presentation of the restored "Camino del Calvario" by Juan de Guzmán. A guided tour of the permanent and temporary collections will also be available.
The Andalusian Center for Contemporary Creation (C3A) will host free summer cinema screenings on July 16th, 23rd, and 30th, and August 3rd, 13th, and 20th, with limited capacity. Additionally, it will continue its "PLAN! EN VERANO" program until September 3rd, featuring creation workshops linked to the exhibition "Ciudad de quién".
Classical music will be featured with an extraordinary concert by the Orquesta de Córdoba in tribute to Manuel de Falla on July 8th at the Gran Teatro. The performance, part of the Guitar Festival, will feature Juan Manuel Cañizares as soloist and include works like "Noches en los jardines de España".
The program will extend to the province through the Andalusian Network of Public Theaters and the 43rd edition of Palma Feria de Artes Escénicas de Andalucía in Palma del Río, offering theater, dance, circus, and street arts performances.
