The city of Córdoba is preparing to commemorate World Anti-Bullying Day with a special event scheduled for April 30. This initiative, promoted by the Córdoba City Council, primarily aims to raise awareness among the educational community and the general public about the issue of bullying, both in-person and online, and its serious consequences.
The central point of this initiative will be the talk titled If I Had Spoken, which will take place at the Visitor Reception Center in the capital. The speaker will be rapper and lecturer Annarce, known as 'The Rapper of Social Causes' for his commitment to fighting bullying and promoting respect through his music. The artist will share his personal experience as a victim of school bullying during his childhood and adolescence, a testimony that seeks to connect with young people and foster empathy.
“"It is a tough but necessary proposal that connects with young people through closeness, using an accessible and emotional language, specifically addressing psychological bullying."
During the day, two sessions will be held for students from Secondary, Baccalaureate, and Vocational Training cycles in Córdoba. In addition to the talk, a manifesto will be read, and the 'Córdoba against bullying' campaign will be launched, to be disseminated on urban buses and in the media. As a symbolic gesture, approximately 400 blue scarves will be distributed among participating students, as a sign of commitment and rejection of bullying.
The delegate for Citizen Participation has highlighted the importance of these activities, mentioning other mental health workshops held in the Noroeste district and at El Tablero institute, also with the rapper's participation, following the success of previous editions. The positive impact of first-person testimonies in fostering empathy and understanding of an issue affecting both victims and their families is emphasized.
“"Silence is an obstacle. You have to speak up and ask for help."
Furthermore, the president of the Mía Association has highlighted the work of her organization, which has supported 378 families affected by school bullying situations. The association offers legal, psychological, and educational advice, emphasizing the need to make the problem visible and encourage victims to report it. It was recalled that Córdoba was recently declared a 'Bullying-Free City', a recognition that, according to the president, must translate into a real and sustained commitment from society as a whole.
