The security deployment for election day in the province of Córdoba will involve 1,531 personnel from the State Security Forces and Corps, as well as the Local Police. This contingent includes 488 National Police agents distributed across Córdoba city, Lucena, and Cabra, in addition to 202 Local Police agents in 24 municipalities, with one hundred of them operating in the provincial capital. An additional 841 Civil Guard agents will also be part of the operation.
The government sub-delegate in Córdoba, after chairing the security meeting, announced these measures. The meeting was also attended by the delegate of the Junta Government and the Security Councilor of the Córdoba City Council. It was highlighted that the province has been in phase 1 of anti-terrorist alert since May 1.
“"The National Police has launched a cybersecurity plan to prevent possible incidents that could occur, which also includes the investigation and prevention of crimes on social media during next Sunday's election day."
Furthermore, it has been established that National Police and Civil Guard agents may accompany polling station presidents who request assistance in transporting election results to the local electoral boards. A special security service has also been implemented in Correos offices to prevent any sabotage or issues.
Throughout Sunday, nearly 500 civil servants will work during election day in the province, with 102 of them in Córdoba city. The province will have 398 polling stations and 354 polling tables, for which necessary materials have already been distributed. There will be 954 ballot boxes, 448 voting booths, 11,500 manuals for polling station members, along with 7.3 million printed ballots and 627,115 envelopes. The material resources also include 475 tablets for polling stations and 52 Braille voting kits.
A total of 451 representatives from the regional executive will participate in the election day, along with 2,862 citizens distributed among the tables of the 10 local electoral boards. The electoral census for the province of Córdoba totals 627,115 people, plus an additional 20,462 registered as residents abroad.
