This award, granted by the popular vote of readers, underscores the uniqueness of Córdoba, a city that, according to the awards organization, boasts an exceptionally attractive heritage and urban spirit. Among its main attractions are the impressive Mezquita-Catedral, the historic Roman Bridge, and the majestic Alcázar de los Reyes Católicos.
The magazine also highlights the charm of the streets of the Jewish Quarter, adorned with geraniums on their windows, and the emblematic Plaza de la Corredera, an ideal place for social gatherings. Furthermore, special mention is made of the Córdoba Patios festival in May, an event that transforms the city into a floral spectacle.
“"Few cities can boast such attractive heritage and urban spirit as Córdoba. Without a doubt, the Mezquita-Catedral is Córdoba's 'great calling card,' in addition to the Roman Bridge or the Alcázar de los Reyes Católicos."
The deputy mayor for Tourism expressed her satisfaction with this recognition, emphasizing that the popular vote of readers reinforces Córdoba's image as a top-tier tourist destination. She highlighted the continuous work of the tourism sector to consolidate this position, stressing the city's wide range of offerings for visitors.
In this edition of the awards, 98 candidates were presented across 14 categories, ranging from the best beach destination to the most sustainable or gastronomic. Córdoba competed in the Best Urban Destination category with six other finalist cities: Barcelona, Granada, Valencia, La Coruña, Melilla, and Elche.
