The city of Cordoba will start the week under an orange alert for high temperatures, with highs expected to reach 40 degrees on Monday and Tuesday, particularly in the Cordoba countryside. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) warns of a heatwave affecting a large part of the national territory.
Temperatures are expected to continue rising from Wednesday, July 22nd, when the maximum could reach 43 degrees, with lows of 21. Thursday will see similar conditions, with highs up to 43 degrees, and a slight decrease to 41 degrees on Friday.
The weekend will bring some relief, with a forecast of a significant drop in temperatures, potentially not exceeding 36 degrees. However, Aemet notes that this forecast could change in the coming days.
Andalusia, along with other regions such as Aragon, Balearic Islands, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia, Community of Madrid, Region of Murcia, Navarre, and Valencian Community, will be on orange alert for significant risk due to the heat. Cities like Cordoba, Murcia, Granada, Jaen, Zaragoza, Mallorca, Alicante, Albacete, or Valencia will experience highs close to 40 degrees during the central hours of the day.
