Five museums and cultural spaces in Cordoba will extend their hours this summer, opening at night on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays to boost heritage and the city's tourism offerings.

The City Council of Cordoba has announced the summer night opening initiative for various museums and cultural spaces, which will take place over ten weekends, from June 25 to August 29. The aim is to broaden the nightlife options and encourage visits to these locations.
The delegate for Culture, Isabel Albás, detailed that the opening will be from 9:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Admission will be free, and cultural mediation will be provided in all spaces. Participating venues include the Julio Romero de Torres Museum, the Posada del Potro, the Bullfighting Museum, the Alcázar Baths, and the Puerta del Puente, along with specific activities at the Roman Temple.

"It is a very important way to expand our cultural and tourist offerings, something novel that the tourism sector has been demanding for many years."

In addition to visits, activities are scheduled to begin at 10:00 PM, such as creative workshops, evenings, and oil and wine tastings, designed for family enjoyment.
The head of Tourism, Marian Aguilar, emphasized the importance of this strategy for the city's competitiveness, aiming to transform the summer nights, traditionally a low season, into a tourist strength. The goal is to attract tourists seeking less crowded destinations, showcasing the heritage richness of Cordoba, a four-time World Heritage site.
Albás also referred to the recent reopening of the gardens of the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos, indicating that restoration work and archaeological interventions are progressing well, although a specific date for the full opening of the monument has not yet been set.
