This Sunday, April 26, Córdoba will become the national athletics hub by hosting the first round of the First Division league. The event will take place at the El Fontanar facilities, an unprecedented occasion for the Club Atletismo Córdoba, which for the first time in its history will compete among the top sixteen teams in the country.
The competition will bring together four prominent clubs: A.D. Marathon from Madrid, UCAM-Cartagena, Durango Kirol Taldea, and the host, Córdoba Patrimonio CAC. The day's events will run from 10:00 to 13:45, including various disciplines such as sprints, middle-distance, jumps, throws, race walking, and relays, concluding with the 4x100 and 4x400 meter flat races.
“"This event not only represents a competition but also a starting point for a sports project that seeks to consolidate Córdoba as a national athletics reference."
The official presentation of the event was held last Thursday at El Fontanar itself, with the presence of institutional, technical, and sports representatives. This gathering served to highlight the importance of the competition and the historic moment the Cordovan club is experiencing.
The presence of international athletes, institutional involvement, and the structural growth of the club reinforce the vision that athletics in Córdoba is in full expansion. All athletics enthusiasts, athletes from the city and province, and fans in general are encouraged to attend this Sunday to enjoy a top-level athletics event.
