The weather conditions forecast for this week in Córdoba present a scenario of maximum fire risk. The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) predicts that the combination of extreme and continuous temperatures, along with the absence of ground humidity, will create the perfect cocktail for fire propagation.
The AEMET's forest fire risk prediction map, consulted by this newspaper, shows that the entire province will be 'colored' red, indicating extreme risk, on Friday, July 24th. This day is expected to see the peak consequences of the intense heatwave currently being experienced.
Some areas of the province will remain at very high risk, one step below extreme. The very high risk situation will extend to the entire province on the previous day as well, Thursday, July 23rd, with some zones in the center and east already experiencing extreme risk.
