The province of Cordoba will experience a notable temperature drop this weekend, marking a respite after intense heatwaves.

The high temperatures that have characterized the summer in Cordoba will offer a reprieve in the final stretch of August. Both the capital and other municipalities in the province will enjoy days with a sharp thermal decrease, after having registered highs exceeding 40 degrees and tropical nights.
The formation of a DANA (isolated depression at high levels) in the southwestern Iberian Peninsula is the cause of this climatic change, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). It is expected that from this Thursday onwards, maximum temperatures will not exceed 34 degrees.
For this Thursday, Aemet even forecasts the possibility of showers in Cordoba, although with low probability and not expected to be significant in quantity. The predicted highs are 33 degrees, with lows of 19, and partly cloudy skies.
On Friday, temperatures will remain similar, with highs of 33 degrees and lows of 18, and no chance of rain. This situation will extend into the weekend, with highs of 34 degrees on Saturday and lows of 16.
It will be on Sunday when the maximum temperatures reach only 33 degrees, with lows of 15 and a slight chance of rain. This represents a difference of almost 10 degrees compared to the 42-degree high recorded last Monday, confirming a drop that will allow residents to better enjoy the last days of summer.
This respite from the heat will continue the following Monday, with predicted highs of just 31 degrees, although temperatures are expected to gradually increase in the following days.
