The municipal government, through the delegate of Infrastructure, Miguel Ruiz Madruga, confirmed in the Plenary Session that, in addition to the already tendered works to repair the deteriorated paving stones of the square, a parallel landscaping project will be carried out. This initiative responds to the requests of the Los Califas neighborhood association, which has called for the creation of continuous tree pits and new plantings.
Ruiz Madruga emphasized that the action will be framed within the guidelines of the Tree Master Plan. This plan recommends the use of continuous tree pits and the selection of tree species best adapted to the local climate to maximize shade provision in the city. As an example of this policy, the delegate mentioned the recent renovation of Virgen Milagrosa Avenue, where continuous tree pits have already been implemented for the trees.
This information was provided by Ruiz Madruga in response to questions posed by PSOE councilor Joaquín Dobladez during the Plenary Session. The inquiries focused on access to the complete Tree Master Plan document and the application of its guidelines in urban works and renovations. The delegate announced that the full document will be available in the coming days on the Infrastructure delegation's website and will be made accessible to political groups and various organizations.
