The operation aims to ensure cleanliness and civic behavior in the city during the celebrations, which attract thousands of visitors. A company spokesperson emphasized the importance of Córdoba "shining" during this time, noting that such operations have been carried out for decades to ensure the proper development of the festivities.
To achieve this, 15 new hires will be brought in starting May 13, joining 30 additional workers and specific reinforcements. This increase in personnel will allow for coverage across morning, afternoon, and night shifts, ensuring a rapid response for sweeping, hosing, waste collection, and emptying bins, especially in the most crowded areas.
Each event will have specific resources. For the Wine Tasting Fair, 1,000-liter containers, bio-waste containers, and double-ring bins will be installed. The May Crosses, one of the most intensive operations, will feature 22 operators, manual sweeping teams, street hosing, and 40 portable toilets with reinforced daily cleaning. During the Patios Festival, an additional 100 bins and 11 portable toilets will be added, enhancing cleanliness along tourist routes.
“"We have to make the city shine."
The Health Fair will see the largest deployment, with 65 daily operators, 140 bins, 850 ring bins, 100 organic waste containers, 200 packaging containers, 290 glass containers, and 45 portable toilets. Additionally, approximately 30 vehicles and support machinery will be utilized, along with collaboration from the Prode company for green area maintenance.
One of this year's novelties is the implementation of an inspection service for educational and awareness purposes, under the slogan "Celebrate, recycle, and care for our city." This team will work with booth operators, groups, and citizens to promote proper waste disposal and reinforce urban civility. Coordination with the Local Police and other municipal services is crucial to ensure the effectiveness and safety of the operation, whose primary objective is the daily recovery of the city after each festive day.
