The 'blanquiverde' team will face Amics del Basket Castelló in the champions' play-off, seeking a promotion that would echo the era of Cajasur Córdoba, a team that in the nineties kept alive the dream of reaching the ACB.
The ambitious sports merger, initiated in 2022 with the union of Colegio Virgen del Carmen and Coto Ciudad de Córdoba, has led to the creation of a solid project. This synergy has optimized facilities and resources, fostering a youth academy that is already a benchmark in Andalusian lower categories.
The financial backing from the electrical company Coto, the main sponsor, has been crucial for team formation and structural development. This support facilitated the administrative leap from Primera Nacional to Liga EBA and, subsequently, promotion to LEB Plata on sporting merit in the 2023-2024 season, attracting new sponsors such as the Cajasol Foundation.
The arrival of a new president this season, with extensive experience in national sports, has strengthened the internal structure and provided stability. Under his leadership, the club has fostered a family philosophy, promoting activities in schools to bring basketball closer to young people and generating a sense of fandom reflected in an average of 1,300 spectators at Vista Alegre.
On the sporting front, the technical direction has been key. The coach, with a long career in elite Spanish basketball, has built an organized and cohesive team. His approach to squad building focused on creating a family atmosphere, which has allowed him to get the best out of his players.
“"We want our team to be built around values such as hard work, ambition, and putting the team's interests first."
Thanks to all these factors, Coto Córdoba has managed to create a project that aspires to establish itself in the elite of Spanish basketball. Next Saturday, at Vista Alegre, they will face Amics del Basket Castelló in the first leg of the promotion play-off.
