According to monthly estimates released by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), the number of babies born in Córdoba during January and February 2026 has grown by 6.48% compared to the same period last year.
Specifically, 491 births were recorded in January, with an additional 380 in February, totaling 871 babies in the first two months of 2026. This figure represents 53 more births than the 818 recorded during the same months in 2025.
Despite this positive rebound, current figures are still far from the birth rate levels observed a decade ago. For instance, in the same period of 2017, the INE registered 1,055 births in the province, which is 184 more babies than this year, averaging 92 additional births per month at that time.
