The incident, reported by the company this Monday, involves the exposure of sensitive information. Although Basic-Fit has assured that all affected customers have been notified via email, the Consumur association has urged them to exercise extreme caution against potential phishing attempts, a cybercrime technique where attackers impersonate legitimate entities to obtain information.
Compromised data includes names, surnames, postal and email addresses, dates of birth, DNI numbers, and phone numbers. Additionally, banking details such as account numbers and account holders, as well as other subscription-related information, have been affected. The company specified that no copies of identity documents or access passwords to the client area were accessed.
“"Given these situations, extreme caution should be exercised regarding possible suspicious messages received through any medium, especially in the coming days."
In Córdoba, Basic-Fit operates three centers: one on Antonio Gaudí Street, near the Julio Anguita train station; another on Avenida de los Almogávares, in the Santa Rosa neighborhood; and a third on Avenida de Cádiz, next to the cinemas in Polígono Guadalquivir, in the South District. The company has informed the competent authorities about the security measures implemented after the incident.
Consumur has made its website, www.consumur.org, and its Consumer and User Service Phone available to those affected who need more information or wish to contact the association.
