The first turnout figure for this Sunday's Andalusian elections in the province of Córdoba shows a downward trend compared to the elections held four years ago. At 11:30 AM, the percentage of voters stood at 16.48%, representing a drop of 0.87 percentage points from the 17.35% recorded at the same time in 2022.
In the provincial capital, the decrease in turnout has been more pronounced than in the province as a whole. The city's electoral roll recorded 16.93% of voters at 11:30 AM, compared to 18.03% four years ago, a decline of 1.1 points.
Significant differences are observed among the municipalities. Villanueva del Rey stands out with an increase of almost 11 points in its turnout, reaching 25%. Other municipalities such as Monturque and Luque also show notable increases, close to five points. On the other hand, Palma del Río, amidst its fair, shows a drop of four points, with 14.66% turnout. Fuente Tójar records the largest fall, with a decrease of 7.5 points and 12.9% turnout at 11:30 AM. Other municipalities like San Sebastián de los Ballesteros, Encinas Reales, Fernán Núñez, or Iznájar also show significant drops, often coinciding with local festivals (romerías).
At the regional level, Córdoba ranks as the second Andalusian province with the highest turnout, surpassed only by Almería (16.67%). The average turnout in Andalusia at 11:30 AM is 15.12%, 0.32% less than in the previous election. Following are Granada (16.09%), Jaén (15.63%), Málaga (15.04%), Sevilla (15%), Cádiz (13.58%), and Huelva (13.24%).
