The incident took place during a police operation aimed at preventing vehicle thefts in the Las Margaritas neighborhood. Undercover National Police officers observed an individual acting suspiciously, tampering with a parked motorcycle on the street.
When approached for identification, the suspect claimed the vehicle was his property and became aggressive. He suddenly produced a bladed weapon and threatened one of the officers, leading to a foot chase that ended with his apprehension a few meters away.
Following the arrest, it was confirmed that the motorcycle had sustained significant damage, including a tampered ignition lock and a fractured fuel tank cap. The vehicle's owner arrived at the scene shortly after to take charge and file the corresponding report.
The arrested individual had both the bladed weapon used in the threat and various tools, presumably used to bypass vehicle security systems, confiscated.
