The Local Government Board of the Córdoba City Council has greenlit the change of ownership for the Fuenseca and Delicias summer cinemas. Businessman Antonio Amil, who has managed these venues since 2024, is now the new owner of these cinemas and the Olimpia cinema, previously belonging to the late Martín Cañuelo.
This procedure officially recognizes Amil's acquisition, adding the ownership of three of the most traditional summer venues in the Cordoban capital to his management. The City Council maintains the rental agreement for these spaces, used for summer cultural and social activities. The future of the cinemas remains contingent on subsidies promised by Mayor José María Bellido to protect this cultural phenomenon.
The purchase agreement was formalized on March 26, 2026, with the acquisition of the plots for 300,000 euros, according to municipal records. The transaction concluded without the City Council exercising a purchase option on the properties.
“"The process is slow."
The Department of Culture was finalizing the guidelines for a subsidy line aimed at preventing the closure of summer cinemas. However, delegate Isabel Albás has acknowledged that the process is moving slowly. These grants, with an approximate budget of 100,000 euros, will be the first provided by the City Council for this cultural activity.
The fourth summer cinema in the capital, Coliseo San Andrés, managed by José María Casado, is confirmed to open this summer.
